I guess my perfect job wasn't so perfect afterall. My position... and the whole art department... got exported to Denver. They can't pay me enough money to make up the difference in cost of living (at least $4000 more a year than what I make now), so I am out of a job.

I'm going to follow my girlfriend out to Driggs, Idaho (15 miles or so west of Jackson, Wyo). Hopefully I can find work there.

Any good luck smoke/prayers would be appreciated. Two weeks and counting to unemployment.

Dawgone Alan. That stinks man. But hopefully there will be a silver lining in that cloud. Good luck bud. Keep in touch.

This is about the last place you can ask something and not get told to take a number and wait.

Number 46, please step up to the counter as we prepare to send your smoke up

OK on the way now.

Cr_p, Alan, that bites. Smoke you got. Let us know if there's anything on the practical level that can be done.

Best of luck while you transition.

On the bright side, you could be in much, much worse places than Jackson Hole area!!!

:(

AC?

It's gonna be fine. Buncha of stuff you haven't even thought of yet to do for a living. Look around...ALL those people do stuff! Amazes me.

Worse things can happen than to have to move closer to your girlfriend.

Have fun with the adventure part of it, and dismiss the grind.

Be well and safe.

Damn Alan, that sucks! :( Just remember that all things happen for a reason. You're just not where you are s'pposed too be yet.

Thanks everyone. Things will look up once I can get relocated and see what is available.

Alan

I agree Howard. I drove through that area during my short-lived stint as a truck driver. Stunning area on both sides of the Tetons. I remember looking down at the river as we were driving North into Jackson and seeing all the people flyfishing and rafting. I decided then that if I ever could move to the area, I would.

I am really starting to look forward to the move. I know a job will come when it is supposed to.

Alan

Hang in there, man. Fear not, you'll find work. All will turn out right. Just smell the smoke a'comin'...

Nam

Sorry to hear that Alan :(

I do hope that this becomes a story that you tell your grandkids and you can say "boy, losing that job turned out to be the best thing that ever happened to me...." :)

Good luck! and try to treat it like an adventure, because it IS :)
