hi all,
I have been a fan of the CLB subcom folder ever since I handled one. I thought a fixed blade would be handy too, went to look (online) for the subcom FB and discovered the MPT. I found Chad's website and all the great info and reviews there, but only saw 1 pic of the MPT in hand. I would love to see more and maybe there are more on this forum if I paged through enough pages. If anyone knows of such, would you please point me in the right direction, or if you have a pic and want to post it of the MPT in hand, would you mind doing that, and let me know if you have big paws or are in the small range (like me). FWIW as much as I like the subcom folder for its value and ease of carry, the width of the handle is almost too much for me.

thanks

Lousy quality picks but hope they help you decide. My thought on MPT is that its one heck of a knife. If you like subcom you will definitely like this one. Feels comfy and secure. My hands aren't big...more on the smaller size.

Thanks a lot!
That is exactly what I needed to see. Looks like a bit more length but also easier to wrap fingers around. And a lot more blade!
... I'm sold!

I have the Trance and Subcom. I've been eyeballin' that MPT as well. VERY pleased with the Boker knives and CLBs designs so far. Great bang for the buck. Nice pics Tomso.

Here is an oldie i did;

http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php?t=489851

It is a great small fixed blade with a smart edge length 'compressed" lenght due to the edge shape . Very ruggit little fellah with hell of cutting ability but still low key enough for carry in city/urban environment..

The handle is truely ingenious imho. It fits my 7.5/8 size great. 3 1/2 digits enclosed. But friends with larger hands said they also like it with 3 - 2 1/2finger grip as the butt end squeezes in there backhand after thinner back of palm in hand.;)

Terry did another one ( he mostly does not .. for not being biased reasons; as he works for boker .. So it means he's impressed .... LOL)

Enjoy your new MPT. ;)

the handle somehow feels like a octopuss . it sucks enough to not let go ...lol

Thanks for the additional pics and reviews. Mine should arrive tomorrow - looking forward to handling it.

Mahalo guys!

GREAT shots, and thanks for covering for me while I am "away".

dogrunner, I think the MPT has not been given enough credit due to the way it "looks". Kinda funky for some, but they just gotta get a hold of one before they count it out. You might wanna check this out, done by a dear friend of mine:

BTW, don't blink at the end of the video...you'll miss everything!!!

Keep us posted please on your MPT thoughts. My PE MPT has been my constant yard companion, rotated with an EDIT, CRKT Desert Hissatsu, and a Magnum Kuhkri.;)

God bless!

Thanks for the video link - I always find KaliGman's demonstrations interesting.

I have to agree with everything everybody has said - this knife is small enough for pocket carry, has a relatively enormous blade  for a short knife, but the handle gives plenty of control and security. Forward grip and reverse edge out grip both very comfortable and natural feeling!

Good materials, affordable price, gets the job done - high marks for all the important things. One minor issue - it was not particularly sharp out of the box, but I fixed that :)

Great stuff. But I still think I need a Subcom FB and I really want that new Kbit too

Thanks Chad for heading me to Kaligman's video.
O boy is he fast and skilled with blades:eek:.
Great video Kaligman!

I also like the tough Aus 8 used.. It won't damage easily and i can get it very sharp in a few minutes.

Aloha dogrunner,

I agree with what you agreed with too!:p Really, the MPT either rigged on a Tek Lok or Mercharness, with it's "long enough" blade and hand filling handle, makes this a GREAT FB worth exploring. The MPT even recently got hailed in Tactical Knives magazine by legendary editor Ralph Mroz!

Some shots of my PE that I used in the yard...them long arse weeds never stood a chance! :D

No problemo Maarten,

I hope more and more people get to...uh...well...see as much as they can of that video by Tuhan Holloway aka KaliGMan. Be advised that KaliGMan actually moves a bit SLOWER for these video demo's, so they CAN be captured on film! Cripes...

Ya know, not to go OT, but I used to kinda get ragged about being an avid AUS8 fan from day one on knife forums. Then one day, my friend Mr. Schempp comes along and also spoke highly of AUS8, especially after some use and sharpening, then BAM!!!

More folks started to like my fave steel next to H1.

God bless beste vriend!!!

Yeah,

Reminds me to get me a spydie with H1 to see what all the fuss is about.

Did you try one of boker XT-15-N ones. They are rustproof too?

Greets;)
