this 6 3/4 inch long Multi Purpose Tanto reminds me of a compact yet powerful pitbull dog :cool: love the snug-fitting zytel sheath provided with the knife :thumbup:
the unique 3-finger handle design affords a "low ride" carry with less pommel/handle poking you in the belly if carried on the waist; the blade shape is actually very utilitarian (great pizza cutter lol :p) despite its "tactical" design....the fine grained Aus8 steel has a wickedly sharp factory edge which I've found easy to maintain with my leather strop...plenty of jimping on the handle and on the spine of the blade (for the thumb) makes the MPT very secure in hand :cool:

I've got a MPT SE too, bought it for €60:(

Love it very much, but found two flaws so far: sheath isn't working properly and the very point of the tip isn't super duper heavy duty.

Wish it came standard with kydex sheath and merc-harnass... and Ti-coat :D:D:D

hey ManofIron sorry to hear your woes with the MPT......the sheaths for both my MPT's fit very snugly .... maybe too snugly....but I'm not worried b/c everything loosens up (and sags) with age :rolleyes::p
I used my comboedge MPT as an icepick today...it did fine....but I was curious what you meant by super duper heavy duty .....bearing in mind that we're talking Aus8 steel not Infi :yawn:;)

My problem with the sheath is being to snug too. Can't pull it out with one hand when it's fully enaged.

About the tip... I have the nasty habit to stab my knives on tables... quite hard :D:D:D Once did it at a friend's house with the the Magnum Crusader and EKI Mini Commander, another guy followed my example with his S&W. So this guy went in the kitchen and grabbed a French chef's knife, tried to stabbed in on the table and almost broke it ;)

hi Man of Iron, I'm not sure if this will work but perhaps a little lube/mineral oil? in the sheath will decrease the friction /snugness of the sheath :confused:

lol, thanks for the pointer. not planny to realy use this one though, except some (rare) ocassional carrying for SD scenario (???when???)

hey M.o.I. I tried it.....it didn't work :o I guess the only way is probably to knifesturbate :jerkit: the knife in and out of the sheath maybe 100 times :rolleyes::D

I forgot to comment on how efficient the serrations on the comboedge MPT perform on cardboard for example....the "giant-sized" serrations in a Spyderedge configuration on the "hawkbill" portion of the blade is dynamite for pulling/slashing cuts (which is why i believe most Hawkbill aficianodos prefer serrations)... and then the "tanto'ish tip" is great for thrusting /stabbing ;):cool:

Do i hear MPT????

He Man of Iron ;

Leave the Mpt half sheated so the thicker square part before the edge begins rests between the 2 retention knobs at the inside of the sheath. After a couple of days the sheath will loosen up.

I love my MPT and my MTV:D

Rugged work knive and buttpricker it is..
