Know it has been discussed but since I just picked up an ATCF thought we could discuss it again. This will make the 4th ATCF I've had and may well be the one I've always been looking for. The last one I had was very close to the "perfect" ATCF. It had double titanium liners with double titanium bolsters. The only downside was a micarta rear spacer and carbon fiber grips. You see, I want my knives to have a little weight to them because I equate that with solidness. The last ATCF weighed in at 5.5 ounces and had a great feel in my hand. But alas, I sold it. Now I come across another ATCF that has what I've been looking for. The double liners and bolsters, along with a titanium backspacer, and best of all, ironwood handles! It was stag or ironwood I was looking for, so this may end up being the magic one. At least I hope so!! :) :) :) Btw, of the 4 I've had, lockup has never been an issue as they all locked up as solid as any knife I've had.

The ironwood on the knife really makes it nice looking.
Nice acquisition!

Great looking folder Art,with killer ironwood.Where you getting all the pictures from? You didn't master the digital camera did you. :p

Nah Stumpman, no maastery of the digital forces yet! Those pics are from Knifeart.com.

Got it today and is it ever SWEET!! The fit and finish is outstanding and the lockup is right on the money with absolutely no blade play at all. The ironwood burl looks fantasticand has a finish on it that I can only describe as old leather. Makes it grippy. The action is so smooth and is that way throughout the entire opening arc. Even though it was advertised as a 3.75" blade it is actually 4.0" with an oal of 8.75" That works out to a handle that is only .75" longer than the blade! Bob sure can pack a lot of blade into that handle. The blade grinds are even and well sharpened. I had rubbed my finger across the blade and thought it not all that sharp but when I tried it out on some chest hair it just poped it right off...so it is deceptively sharp.

Really pleased with this score as it looks to be that perfect ATCF............finally!! :D :)

I prefer Bob's "Full Dresser's" without a clip, but that is personal choice for ya. :D

I still think that Bob T, and John W. Smith make the best knives in that category, for the price. Now, I love Kit's work, and all, but it is getting harder and harder every year to get stuff with his name, and his name only, on it.

I really like how the ATCF has evolved, the machined pivot screws, the finish detail on the bolsters, the subtle beveling on the scales, it is all a really wonderful package. Congratulations, and

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson
