Fellows,

In case someone is interested, Mr. Chuck is coming to my small town on my invitation. He just happens to be going by and I made my invite over a year ago. Note: He will be at Shepard of the Hills Cutlery in Branson, MO the weekend before.

I won't blow smoke, he is coming to give a faith testiomony at the Methodist church, in Sallisaw, Oklahoma on my request. He is a good speaker and his talk is inspirational and not limited to one faith. I am sure knife talk will be allowed and it will occurr.

I will put up my Blade show display and hope anyone else nearby will bring some knives to show also. He will have his electric pen for signing knives.

This will be in the evening of, Thursday, June 17. All you hidden Buck people in Oklahoma and eastern Arkansas are welcome. I hope to drum up a decent showing since he took time out of his travel home from the Blade Show to do this.......contact me for info.

300, What a great opportunity. There's a chance my wife and I will be in Junction City, Kansas in mid June. Looks to be about a 350 mile drive from there... I'm gonna give this some serious thought.

I saw Chuck at the Oregon show last month, from a distance. He had such a crowd around him I decided to just move on down the aisle.... Mike

yes enjoy your visit with chuck!
he is so easy to be around!
such a nice guy...
wander when he will be on the east cost?

I had an opportunity to meet Chuck last summer at an outdoor store in northern Ohio. I was driving back from New York and stopped in just to basically stretch my legs and peek at their knife counter. There was no one at the counter and when a clerk finally showed up I asked to see a Buck custom. He handed it to me and then stated matter-of-factly: "Chuck will be back in a few minutes and he'll sign that if you want. He just went to get some lunch". I had no idea he was even there and when he returned, we were the only ones there. My wife, my son, and myself just stood there and talked with him for probably half an hour. I really didn't want my knife signed, but I did have to get a 110 for my son and Chuck happily signed it. I've had occasion to speak and correspond with some of the best known names in the knife industry and my impression was that they just don't come any more genuine than Chuck Buck. When someone of his status in the industry stands around and speaks with a complete stranger about how pleased he was to hear that our kids attend a Christian school (of course I think he would have been pleased to hear that any parent is involved with their kids), that really speaks volumes about character.

My experience has been that that's also a characteristic of the knife industry in general. I sent an email to Mel Pardue (I had never met, spoken with, or even emailed him before) this afternoon and within five hours he sent me a detailed response, a phone number, and told me to call him if I had any other questions. It's not just the knives, but the people that make this hobby so great! Including all the fine and helpful folks here on BF.

Thats really cool 300, I saw on the Buck DVD that he does a number of prayer breakfasts and such. I met him last year and talked knives,:) I'd love to hear his inspirational speaking side. Too bad MO is soooooooo far from me.:(

Enjoy, I'll pray for a good turnout

That's cool. I guess I'll have to go to Post Falls some day to meet him.

I wish Buck Inc. would do a factory sale in my small town some day.
