Mr. Clumsy or bad luck?

As some of you may remember, I sent my brand new sabenza 25 for a twisted washer. CR customer service is examplery.
The pivot though started getting loose after a few weeks -- keep in mind, I'm only an urban user, that means it stays mostly in my pocket besides me opening up here and there for the pure pleasure of playing with it as most of of us do.

I tightened up the pivot and it became loose again this morning.
So I decided to take it apart.
My first turn on the rear screw, stripped it.

I still was able to disassemble the knife while that screw stayed on. I cleaned off and wiped off all residue and put on some CR "grease".
Put it back and the blade stops halfway and won't close. Period.
It looks like the back blade is hitting the joint -- which the other screws are.
Any advice?

The stop pin on the sebenza 25 has a flat spot that you must line up for the blade to open/close. If this pin is misaligned it creates the problem you describe. Also put a drop of blue loctite on that pivot to stop it from backing out. Good luck!

Got it. Thanks. By the way, how do deal with the stripped screw? And can I order another screw from CR?

Yes you can order extra screws. I recommend keeping a few on hand for mishaps like you experienced:D

Do you mean you rounded out the recess in the head of the fastener? If so, I have had luck using the next size up tool and tapping it gently into the head of the fastener (back the knife with something firm but non-marring, like leather). Example: rounded out T6 can often be removed with a T7 (assuming you have one).

Small fasteners are not precision parts and have been a source of problems for knife companies for years. I'm not saying this was the cause of your problem, but it's easy (and I know because I have done it) to insert the tool only part way into the fastener head, which can easily cause problems, so one precaution is to make sure you've always inserted the tool all the way into the recess on the fastener's head.

I'll pretty much echo what most here have said. The stop pin on the 25 has that cutout and it has to be oriented directly to the hole of the pivot. This way, the tang of the blade will clear when opening/closing. I recommend lok-titing the stop pin and rear backspacer. These two items do NOT have to be removed to disassemble the knife and will make re-assembly much easier!

I was able to put the blade together and as that was the issue stated in the first reply. Thanks.

The small screw I am referring to is the Allen small screw for the linyard. That screw was stripped upon my disassembly.
