I was just wondering if you ever hold seminars about cutlery production. i just had an absurd hope of one day being a knifemaker, and i believe you have a lot of information that i may be looking for. for example, different grinds, heat treatment, metallurgy, polymer synthesis, lock mechanics, etc,etc,etc....

thank you

Charels - We do not offer such training, although there is quite a difference between lerning to make custom or factory made knives.

If Your are considering custom making, I would suggest reading a few books on the subject (there are many) and then finding a local custom maker to "help" you. That is the way it is traditionally done and there are many good makers in your part of the world.

Making factory knives also depends on what level you wish to work. These days, the most difficult thing for us to find is makers with CNC programming experience. On the other hand, there is a great deal of "hand finish" work in much of our knives and these are skills that are part natural and part experience. Also a difficult combination to find. How old are you?

Charels - I would recommend looking into custom making first. It sounds like you've got a lot on your plate. Studying for production mfg is a field of its own.
