Snortingly funny stuff. That ham should feel fortunate it got sliced by the 5, it's a real porky privilege.

I used mine last year on a whole ham. Boy does that thing do the job well. I really started to appreciate it when I trimmed all around the bone and wasted far less than usual.
 
Man NCSlice, I don't know which I like better in those pics, the ham or the 5. this post made me hungry.
(the 5 is next on my list to own)

Hah, thanks a bunch guys! First time looking at this thread on a PC. It looked ok on my phone but terrible on PC, sorry...bad lighting kills the iphone camera...
Yeah, that was a good night, ham and a Becker... good stuff man!
 
Aside from a dedicated kitchen cutlery forum, this one sure does make me more hungry than anything else on the web that has to do with knives.
 
Just got my 5 in from dexwithers.

Now I finally understand. This blade is sweet. I had never held one before. I liked the 15 for similar reasons.

:-D I hear ya. I'm overdue for a family pic now as well. My 4 and 16 have been more customized (including tommythewho scales and skystorm sheaths). My 2 is still a 2 (convexed), my 15 has been stripped and convexed. Only change to the 5 thus far is installing the stainless bolts Dex provides.

Will get some pics up soon....

Most of them are stamped. But a few have reported getting etched versions.

The older stamped ones also have the smooth coating while the newer etched ones have the coarse coating.

If you're looking for a stamped or etched BK5, Dex at coyleoutdoors.com will check to make sure you get the right one.
 
I was going to order one through dex but it says out of stock. I just happened to notice in all the photos since I started looking, they were stamped.
