I picked up two bucklites. One is red marked 412 Scoutlite, the other looks real dark purple in color, marked 422. Both have three brass pins, one stainless pin @ the lock pivot. Both are well used, the Scoutlite blade is very worn, can the blade be replaced with a 112 blade?
These handles are rock solid......more so than the newer Bucklites without the pins. Did Buck ever make this type in a 110 size? If so what number would appear on the blade?
Do you still have the mold for these? If you won't make more I would love to, I have a friend who is in the business, I think he even used to make handles for Buck some time ago. Guess its time for a BG42 blade eh?...........

Tom,
The model 426 was Buck's equivalent Bucklite to the 110. Yes, it was available in the early style you describe. I also think those early style Bucklite models were fantastic. The later models which were one piece were not nearly as good in my opinion.
The 428 and 429 Selector models were the same length as the 426, by the way.
I will let Joe answer your other questions.

Tom,
There is a good chance that we can replace that blade with a 112 blade. The only drawback is that "sometimes" the handle gets hit while trying to remove the old blade rivet. There is no fix for the mark left. It really does not make much diference if this is a user. Kinda like my pickup truck, whats one more scratch?
Hope this helps.

If you can install a new blade, a hit is no problem, one of these looks like its been chewed a bit, the other just had a lot of use. Let me know and they will be in the mail.

Thanks,
Tom

ps. since this may be a go, is this a good time to ask about BG-42 for the 112 series?
