Mr Knife's Never Ending GAW Box # 91!!!

Hey y'all! The Never ending GAW continues into the 90's!!! So here it is #91!!!

I was honored to be included & even won a chance to continue this Porch tradition. I have always been impressed with the generosity & friendship that I've seen here & this pass around giveaway box is a fine example of that. So I'm putting up a personal favorite of mine to contribute to the fun & lightheartedness of this place.

Anyways, the standard rules are applied.

The Rules: (copied from the last GAW)

• Be a member of the Porch (minimum 50 posts to the “Traditional" forum).

• Paying members of BF only.


If You Win The Box:

• When you receive the box, take any number of knives and replace them with knives of equivalent (or greater) value.

So much to choose from...
After fingering over them like a raccoon & chicken eyeing them for awhile I think I've chosen the ones that are staying here & mine that are getting contributed...

What I've decided to keep... I picked out the GEC Moose, IXL Barlow, Schrade Whittler, & the Imperial Toothpick.


I really enjoyed the feel & blade combination of the 81 Moose so that was the first choice. I've never owned or handled an English Lambsfoot & started to see why they are so popular so the IXL was the second pick. The Schrade Whittler was the third, it's well worn from being in the pocket & is a pretty interesting pattern. Not to mention I think it's been in the box for a few rounds so it's found it's new home here. As for the Imperial, my late grandfather had a fondness for the Imperial brand & I thought it would be a fun thing to have.

What I've added...
As I've stated I'm impressed with the generosity around here so I'm offering up a personal favorite of mine. (Who doesn't need a Yellow Rose in their life)

+A GEC #81 Yellow Rose with tube & pin. It's been lightly carried by me.

+ A Case Medium Toothpick "SS" in Jade bone (Also lightly carried by me)

+ A Case Slimline Trapper, Yellow Synthetic in Carbon Steel. (New in Box)

+ A Gerber Pixie Bird & Trout (Something you don't see often) with the original factory sheath. Made in Portland Oregon sometime around the mid 1960's to mid 1970's I believe. Used but still a fun & interesting little fixed blade.



I'm also throwing in a few extra items y'all might enjoy. A large & small Stainless Bail for those of you who might need one. A new leather magnetic pocket sheath from CK is being included if y'all were wanting to try one out. Lastly I'm including a Rose bandana it goes with the GEC Rose!!!... Ha! Just kidding, it goes to whoever wants it. I added it just because

Nice additions Zach! The yellow rose knives are some of the nicest covers GEC makes and one of my favorites. I hope your bees don’t miss it too much!

I won this a couple of years ago so I'm not in, but is great to see the interest in this going up.

It was a lot of fun going through all the different knives and trying to decide what moves to make. That said, I don't think my wife appreciated having 20 knives laid out on the living room coffee table for a whole week. I'm sure she's over it now.

Thanks Mark. You're right, it is a lot of fun going through everything & getting a chance to play with some different brands & models. Luckily my wife is understanding about my interests (she puts up with my hijinks), even though it can wear on her nerves sometimes with the constant "click-click-clack"
Mrs. Hoovie was actually somewhat excited about this pass around, she's not into pocket knives at all but she loved the idea of it. She was eagerly waiting to see what I would pick out & what I would replace it with.
