I picked this package up at my post office a week ago, after the holiday weekend. I've decided to keep the following: the Winchester Whittler, the S&M Spear Point, and the Boker fixed blade. Frankly there were a couple more that really caught my eye, but in most cases I already have one, and these three will see pocket time.
Here's everything that remains the same (with the exception of the GEN II combat, which somehow missed the photo session):
A good list of everything (with pics) is available here: https://www.bladeforums.com/threads/mr-knifes-neverending-gaw-round-107.2036282/
So what I thought I would do is offer an assortment of knives from here in Europe that I've picked up in my travels, and one of my favorite brands and patterns so someone else can give it a try. What you have here is a Cudaman Vendetta, from Spain; an Amolador Navalha, a traditional pattern from Portugal; an Opinel 08 Ellipse in ebony that I picked up a few weeks back in Rouen, France; and a Paul Adrian Gentleman's Steak Knife in olive wood, that I got direct from the maker at the Solingen show in 2023. These are all thin, slicey, blades, and only the Adrian has been used.
Next I'm adding a small custom from one of our BF makers, Bogdan, from Ukraine, and an Irish Congress by Fight'n Rooster. The Captain's Rooster's in MOP were the top of the line, and really nice knives. And it's made in Germany. If I wasn't so attached to the BF Forum knife from 2011 I wouldn't part with this, but somebody needs to see just how handy this pattern is, and the last GEC 13 (almost the same thing) got pulled pretty quick.
And last, because I'm adding this GEC fixed blade, hoping someone can use it for the coming hunting season.
And...on to how to play along. I'll keep all the previous names from the #107 box (unless you're not interested, just let me know), and anyone else wanting to take a chance on trading into something new just add your name to the thread. Be advised you should be a person who frequents the Traditional area, and should be a paying member for the forum.
We have the holiday weekend coming up, and I'm sure everyone has better things to do than drool over knives, so I'm going to let this run until noon Pacific time Saturday, 12 July. I'll post the winner Sunday morning, and if I get the mailing info in time I'll post the package Monday morning.
