Happy Memorial Day! Of course, Memorial Day is always a mixture of celebration and sadness: the joy of celebrating our freedoms and that so many brave men and women have been willing to sacrifice to allow us to continue to enjoy our freedoms, mixed with the sadness that there are people in the world who want to take away our freedoms and that make it necessary for so many to fight and die to maintain them.

I have the box. Here is a photo of the contents of the box, as I received them:

As you can see, there are quite a few knives, as well as a few non-knife contributions. Approximately 16-17 knives, 1 razor, a keychain with P38 and screwdriver tool, a can opener, a sponge brush, a whetstone, etc.

I am currently in the process of trying to decide what to take, and what to add.

I am definitely going to add at least one Case knife. I will be sure to add at least one more knife than I take.

Thanks again to Mr. Knife, 315 and everyone else who has kept this going!

HERE ARE THE RULES FROM MR. KNIFE'S ORIGINAL GIVEAWAY THREAD:

In order to be considered, please fulfill any of these conditions:
1. be a known member of the Porch (at least a decent amount of meaningful contribution via content or conversation)
2. have donated to the St.Judes Charities/or Bob (hang in there buddy, hope you are doing ok!)
3. have done any sort of giveaway

To which was later modified for item #1, above: "be an active member of the Porch."

So my understanding is that fulfilling any ONE of the above requirements makes one eligible to enter the GAW.

Next Step (in progress): Select knife or knives to take from the box, and knives to ADD to the box! My goal is to add knives that will spur interest!

then:

2. Set a date for the drawing
3. Make sure any and all new entries are added to the list.
4. Random.Org a winner!
5. Ship!

My goal is to ship to the next winner within the next week or so...

Comments and suggestions are welcome.
 
I won only two rounds ago, so I'm not putting myself in again just yet, but thanks for keeping this one alive!
 
I was on the original list many moons ago but I am not on it now. I don't recall why.
Anyway I would like to participate in this. If I may.
 
I'd like to bow out for a while, I've got so many things on my plate that I don't want to win right now ...
 
Thanks for letting me know! I will remove your name from the list. When you are ready to rejoin the GAW, just post to the current thread at that time.

Decisions, decisions.

I've been trying to think of which knives I can add to the box to spark some real interest. I know I want to add at least one Case knife, but I'm having trouble deciding which one, and which others to add as well.

But I have made at least one decision - I will be adding a GEC knife to the box.

Hopefully I will make the remaining choices - which knives to take out and which additional ones to add - very soon! The clock is ticking...
 
Just a note to let everyone know I've been very busy, but I am moving on this!

Get your entry in soon, I plan on drawing a winner on Wednesday, June 6th, and shipping no later than next weekend - June 9th.
 
You're welcome! I've learned so much from the fine folks here, and seen so many people share their time, knowledge and knives with myself and others, that I am proud to be a part of it - and I want to pass along something myself. This is an opportunity for me to do that.

So by this time next week, the box will be on the way to someone else, with most of the contents in the picture at the beginning of this thread, and a few new additions.

Knives I am adding to the box:

GEC Navy Knife 15S116 Old Barn Chestnut (440C) - Mint in Tube
Case Red Peanut 6220CV - Near Mint in Box
Buck 382 Trapper 0382BKS - Mint in Box
Imperial USA Kamp King - well used but intact and functional

So four knives total being added. I will try to add photos before the drawing, but I will definitely get them up before I ship.

I am taking:

Colonial advertising pen knife
Robeson small brown two-blade knife
Wadworth and Son white knife

So adding four, taking three. Drawing SOON!! Thursday evening, June 7th.
