Yes, that's right! Also a few modifications (butt and ricassoline). It takes a lot of sanding to get to this result!! But it's worth it IMO:D

Phew, I thought I was gonna be wrong or something.. lol

Thats a really nice job Craft, excellent work.. I bet you sanded for hours... but its a one off now, no other like it... :D

Top job, and excellent pics again... how long did the actual project take you from start to finish?? Man hours wise??

My friend (who is a master toolmaker) did most of the job at the factory where he works. I stripped it and did some of the sanding.

guestimated workload:
1 h stripping and scraping the INFI clean (removing of the handles included)
15 h of (hand)sanding with various grits and doing the modifications
3 h tooling the new rivets out of a massive stainless steel bar (including a heat treat)
1 h putting it all together again

Totals to about 20 hours continuous work. It took us about 3 weeks from start to finish, couple of days a week, working in the evening hours (when everybody else went home) in the factory.

Well that is 20 hours very very well spent... I may undergo something like that with my CGFBM one day...

A true inspiration Crafft, nice one bro :D

Great pics Crafft!!!

And I'll admit, this is the first I've noticed that the butt was ground SFNO style.... Looks absolutly awesome!!! I've always wondered if there was a specific purpose for the MR / HR butt design... anybody know

Also, the handles look darker than they used to be... did you darken it up with something??

In any case... AWESOME MR LE!!!

Wow, Really nice! I'm not a big fan of the HR but that is sweet. Why didn't Busse offer HRs like this to begin with???

Thanks!!!

I just treated the handles with Balistol a couple of times and now they tend to stay dark:) (Doesn't work yet with the FBMLE:confused:)

That looks really nice, you guys did a fantastic job. I bet you won't be parting with that knife any time soon!

Great pics:thumbup: , and I bet this is the knife you like most.
Same thing with my NOe, the more work you put in it themore you like it :D

Yep! Absolutely beautiful job! I love the SFNO design but this is a great second. This would have been an awesome HR-LE design from the factory.

Erik, again awesome job! I'm looking forward to our Busse meeting so I can see this one in person!:D

So you made your hollow rivets out of solid rod instead of using tubing? I have a metal lathe that I could do the same with, but I have used SS or titanium tubing on the ones I have done. Maybe you didn't have the tubing available to you in the right size and/or thickness. Great job on the finish!

We wanted to use tubing but couldn't find any so we decided to make it ourselves:cool:

That is one BEAUTIFUL knife! taking orders???

Hi Xaman,

I'm afraid not. My friend has a very busy job! Doing much overtime. This was a (one time) kind of experiment to see what could be achieved.
He said I could use the factory in the evening hours to work on another (without his help). But I'm sure you don't want me as a novice in this department to work on your precious Busse:D

In a few days I get another (my second) HHFSH. I'm thinking of modding that one myself. I'm not totally sure about it. Maybe I sell or trade the second HH as is because I can use the cash right now. On the other hand I'm quite curious how the HH turns out if I give it the same treatment as we did with the MudRazor. I guess I'll have to make up my mind.:p
