Anne Bancroft will ever be remembered for her iconic roll of Mrs. Robinson in the 1967 movie, "The Graduate". She won an Oscar, two Tonies, and an Emmy in her long career. She was married to Mel Brooks for over forty years. She was 73 at her death.

I cannot believe that she was only in her mid-thirties when she played Mrs. Robinson. She was such a great actress that she was totally convincing as a woman in her late forties or fifties.

Adios Ms. Robinson, here's to you Ms Robinson. :(

Her husband must be devastated forty yrs and never in the tabloids they
must have been very happy together.

I never saw her in any movie, maybe the Helen Keller movie in middle school. Mel did get a great catch from what I've heard in the past few days.

Silenthunterstudios, you really should rent "The Graduate" and watch it. it is one great film at many levels. For one thing, and I was just out of college when it came out (Class of 1966, my wife was 1967) and it caught lightning in a bottle. I say that because the film caught that fleeting moment when alienation with America as it had been in the post WWII years, especially the Eisenhower years, was just about to erupt into the counter-culture hippie and drug cultures of the late 1960s. It was just about to do so, but had not quite happened and the movie catches that sense of comng change.

My wife followed Anne's career and said that she and Mel were very happy together. Anne was perhaps even funnier than Mel, but you wouldn't know it to look at her. Probably why she was so funny.
