What is the history of Mean Streets? When did it come out? What's it best suited for? What are the different variations? Pictures, lots of them if you have them. How does it perform design wise with the howling rat?

Back in the dim, unlit recesses of my memory I seem to recall that, when the first A2 Mean Streets were introduced, they were promoted as a compact, stout, defensive carry which would not fail you when the chips were down.

Most people who use the original configuration tout them as outstanding utility knives. I wouldn't know, as mine remains pristine.

As for pics, since my stock of MS is meager indeed, some real hog will be along soon. Skunk had pics not too long ago of a comprehensive array of Streets.

There are some great pics on badmojo.tv

I like the MS platform. Stout lil pup. If you want to slice your carrots paper-thin, get a Leaner Meaner....

one of the most comfortable handles in the history of busse. hard to beat as an edc as well as the blade design is flawless for utility and defensive needs.

given the choice between the mean street and meaner street would be tough for me because i got the mrs the way i wanted it but the ms just seems to be more handy

Yeah, I know, thread is about Mean Street but I just have to write a few words about my Street ;) - the one and only Leaner Meaner Street.

I've used and abused this knife a lot. It's my ultimate EDC. Frankly - my little problem as well, because since I've bought LMS I just don't feel that I need any more knives. Just this one - carried on my back on IWB. God damn, I remember years ago, I wanted to own so many knives for so many tasks - where'd those days gone? LMS is extremely tough and has hell of an ergonomy. I've cut a steel hood to pieces once with it - no damage of cutting edge, after multiple puncturing 3 mm thick sheet of steel it was still quite sharp and the tip didn't seem to be impressed ;). I've also punctured some coins for fun - same effect. Only my fiancee managed to break the tip by accident but she is a weapon of mass destruction :D
Ultimate fighting/utility EDC fixed knife. I've posted some HQ photos here few months ago if someone's interested. If you want I can also post the pictures of hood cutting mentioned above ;)

I'm just a poor student and those 275 bucks or so are yowza-lot-of-money to me but I've never spent any money better!

Any time you want to post pics of a Busse in action, do so without question!!

Lookin forward to seein that car hood butchering....

Yes any pics of the MS would be great!

So the trip is in like 2 weeks, and so I don't think I'll be able to get one before then. Which stinks cause if I knew about this trip ahead of time, months ago...I would have saved so I could test out infi in the thick northern maine woods. Attack of moose of something. Actually...I hope I don't run into any moose.

Where their any MS made in A-2? If so, why A-2?

I'm bring my CT with me to use, but after that..summer season starts and my days of woodsy adventure will end. So I thought of selling it and using the sale for MS or used MS or something. I'd use a MS more then I was a CT which is still a virgin.

on a silly side note, apperently the guides that are taking us tried to tell us "bedtime" is at 9! Umm..no. Drinking offically starts at 9. We don't start to get done work till 9 normally. Monkeys. "bedtime at 9 and no open containers" Right, well we will be camping over there now...bye.

hell no.

Not exactly a car hood - I mean old type of polish oven hood or whatever you call it - also tough bastard, 1 mm thick, managed to pierce 3 layers at once!

Angelus try to search for a thread by Glorf (Glorfindel? Whatever his nick is over here :D) we've posted some good pictures there.

Pics of aBusse coming right up, give me a moment...

EDIT :

There you go!

So what did I learn from this test:

- it's so much fun to abuse!
- cutting edge is ALMOST indestructible [I've managed to accidentaly get myself a combo edge once, PiterM fixed it :)]
- piercing with reverse grip - outstanding security
- piercing with uh... standard grip ;) - very good but still the guard could be a little bit bigger
- handling when using some serious strength is fabulous - the knife sticks to the hand and won't budge - still won't damage your skin.
- double cut finish - on the first glance it looks like bead blasted but is extremely durable - this test shown above made no visible scratches, only a few little ones, even though I had to use two hands often to cut this hood and gibe it a kick with my boot few times :D

In the summer I plan to open a few wrecked cars with it, both roof and doors - we'll see what will happen :)

And uh, apologise for the pics quality - cellphone camera.

Nice work!!! Nothing like some serious INFI abuse. :D Thanks for the pictorial.

Thanks for the pics and story. I've just received my MrS and would still be reluctant to do testing just for the sake of doing it. So, I will sit back and watch with extreme interest as others do the test. I've believed all along that the claims of indestructable were true, it's just cool to see others take the challange. Thanks again.
Book'em

Sweet pics bro!!

Sorry, just assumed car hood. Range or oven hoods are tough metal mothers.

Thanks again.

Can't wait to see what you try next!!

Damn thats a nice knife!

I swear I will get one of those if its the last knife I ever buy!

Looks like a perfect design, and shape of exactly what I want!

I wonder if I start a "help me buy a busse in 2 weeks" fund at the bar, if I will get any money. Maybe from the drunks. Hmmm...drunks have to have money to have beer..hmmm..

Well in my country I am known as the first abuser, some people dislike that but I knew you hogs will enjoy, you guys inspired me to make some more aBusse!

So uh, where'd those tanks go in 1989... Gotta find one! :D
