Hello everyone. I took my MS performance test this past weekend at the Spring Hammer in with Mike Williams officiating. I had a little trouble with the rope due to operator error ( read nerves) but was able to cut it with no problem both before and after the 2X4 cutting. The knife passed the bend with flying colors. So possibly Atlanta this year if the knives cooperate. If not then 2009.
Y'all have a good one and I am back to the shop.

Congrats, won't tell you good luck, just hard work. Luck has nothing to do with it!

Good job Brion! I was wandering around somewhere and missed it. Congratulations. I know Diane is relieved. :D Lin

Congrats, Brion. You know that you can have the master smith do the rope cut for you if you are unable. I think that impending anxiety s**ts would qualify as a valid health reason...lol;)

Contratulations Brion. That is great news. Can't wait to see your test knives, but don't get in a hurry. :D.

Thank you to everyone for the comments, I really appreciate them. The blade was 312 layers of 1080 and 15N20 in a random pattern with a 416 SS ferrule and Bois D'arc for the handle. It is 9 3/4" with a total length of 14 5/8".
Of course edge quenched and the back was drawn four times. Actually I cut the rope just fine at home and after Mike tried it. Nerves went away and I settled in I guess. The blades are done, I just need to put handles on them. And yes the dagger is pretty much complete, just fine tuning there. So we will see.
Again thank you everyone for your support.

Congratulations! I looked through your site, your knives are very beautiful, sounds like it is a nice blade.

Brion, congrats on you passing the MS test also. I will be at the Austin show. It will be nice nice to meet you also. Richard
