Here's a few pics of a project I'm working on for a fellow forum member. Its one of my MSC (Military, Survival, Camp) Recurve models with Teeth!

Specs:
6" blade of 3/16 O-1, black oxide coated
Aggressive serrations on the sharpened top edge and tip
Sculpted black Micarta grips
Skull crusher with lanyard hole and lanyard
3/8 SS tube pins
Black Spec-Ops Brand Combat Master sheath

The customer wanted some pics bad, so I took these during the black oxide process for him. Figured I'd post them here too, in case anyone else was also interested in the process.

Basically, the process consists of a bead blast finish, cleaning, chemical etch, rinse, solvent soak, and overnight dry.

Hope he likes it! I'll post the finished pics in the gallery when she's done and ready to ship

Thanks for looking.
Scott

SOMEBODY"S GOING TO BE HAPPY!!!!

Very nice, i really like that shape. Can you tell us more about the coating process? What kind of chemicals are involved? Is it really durable?

Scott I just gotta say this looks awsome...and thanks for the link ive been wanting to try coating for a long time but didnt know where to start...thanks a bunch and youll have one happy customer!!

I use Spec-Ops Brand sheaths, or make my own in kydex. I've used a bunch of different nylon ones, and Spec Ops (esp the Combat Master) is simply the best in my opinion. You get what you pay for. I fold the loops over and lash them down with the paracord leg tie, and carry all of mine in a high ride fashon. Its alot more comfortable when sitting.

Indian George, I was thinking of submitting two polished versions of this model for your calendar project. What do you think?

Scott were did you find that thick walled 3/8 tubing...also what is the thinkness on them I have been looking for some bigger stuff for thong hole tubing.

Looks really great. I have not seen serations like that on a tip before, what are the serattions to be used for?

Scott....about the serrations on both sides of the point...

I can understand serrations on a point, but what is the thinking behind the spaceing?
I have never seen serrations on a action knife like that.

Hi Scott, Just received the knife. It is more than I hoped for, I'm going to call this knife "War Winner". I'll be asking you soon to make another knife. Thanks again Dave
