I have a BK24, but I have always been interested in the mil spec monkey Kabar. Does anyone have one?

I had an MSM KaBar, which I got in a trade. To be honest, I didn't care for it much, and I ended up giving it away to a friend. The sheath isn't very good, the ergos aren't great, the blade stock is really thick, and honestly, it's just not very practical for anything. The finger guard on the bottom stops you from making cuts with the bottom edge of the blade, and the geometry means it's not a great slicer. And the paracord wrap just isn't a substitute for a real handle.

It's not a bad knife for hammering through a car door, and it definitely looks cool. But at the end of the day, functionally there's nothing it can do better than a more conventional blade (like the BK24 or ESEE 4), and there's a whole lot it's just plain bad at. It's designed to look great, at cost of being a poor tool. Unless you just want a display piece, I'd pass on it if I were you.
