MSR Waterworks vs Miniworks for Survival

I'm considering getting a water filter for my home survival kit. I've settled on these two primarily because of availability in my area.

The only difference that I can see between the two is that the Waterworks model has a "pre-filter" on it (and it costs nearly twice as much as the Miniworks).

Which one should I get for the purposes of home survival? Is the prefilter worth the extra cost?

The filtering portion of these two filters is the same ceramic cartridge, the difference is that the MSR Water Works adds an iodine matrix after the filter to kill anything that didn't get filtered out.

I have used an MSR Mini Works for years and it is an outstanding little filter. I'd recommend going that route and spending the remaining funds on something else for your home preparedness.
