I was just informed that the MT LCC MA was going to have a 154CM blade in either black or grey coating and the DA was going to have the new S90V SS blade.

I am bummed out, because I was so excited to try out the S90V, but since I live in California I cannot own an automatic knife.

Does anyone else have any other information or comments on this topic?

Eric.

I received the same information. I'm a little disappointed, but considering the good price and the good luck I've had with MT's other 154CM blades I'm sure I'll be happy with this one. I'm planning on wating 'til MT makes another new model using S90V and using this as excuse to get another knife.

HEY! Not to worry... I got this email from Alphonse at Microtech today....

"The D/A will be made so that the user can easily convert it to a strictly M/A knife and this could be accomplished with the removal of a single screw! In my opinion your best bet would be to obtain a D/A version and remove the spring if you desire.
Take Care,
Alphonse"

Even if you live in a place where the mear ownership of an auto is prohibited the spring can be taken out by your dealer prior to shipping.

Well then, this seems to be a grand idea whose time has come. Now to find a dealer who will remove the spring, ship the LCC DA and then mail out the spring in an envelope... Up yours Big Brother!

Thanks for the info Dashunde. I just might have to do that.

It is still disappointing, because now I'm essentially paying $225 for a $145 knife.

And if I cannot find a dealer willing to do the adjustment for me I still cannot get one. I think CA law forbids one to even receive an auto in the mail.

I'm fairly certain Tom at Marshman Brothers (marshmanbrothers.com) would remove the spring for you.
Another dealer who might remove it is Chief (http://www.members.home.com/jferguson4/)
This is not saying that others wont... so check around or ask your "favorite" dealer if you have one.

I get the feeling that this spring removal
business on the Auto Lcc will become pretty common... by dealers and buyers.
