I've got a MT LCC on it's way I was just wondering if the pivot is adjustable? I've got several other MT and despite the prescense (SP?) of a pivot screw, they're not adjustable. In fact, when I needed one adjusted I sent it down to MT and they BUILT me a new one, they said that's the only way they could change the tension. Is the new LCC the same? Thanks in advance.

I'm now wandering the same, especially since the knife is carried "tip up". If I do order this model I don't want it coming open in my pocket or inside belt line!

The LCC is built the same way as the Socom manual, for that matter , the same as all of MT's manuals. The blade rotates on a bearing that the handles tighten against. This bearing is a few thousandths thicker than the blade. So when the pivot is adjusted as tight as it will go it has tightened down against the bearing surface not the blade. This is why the MT manuals are so smooth and easy to open. Chris Reeve builds his folders the same way. The only way to get a tighter tension i.e. having to use more force to open the blade, is to reduce the thickness of the bearing. This is something that can cause a real problem if you reduce it too much!
BTW the LCC's seem to be a little tighter than the Socoms. I for one like a tight blade, and have found out that the LCC's I have ( 3 ) all came, as baby bear would say,
"just right"

Art, thanks for the info. I never had a clear understanding of how the MTs pivot worked. Good to hear the LCC is a little on the tight side. Up here in the Great White North, blades that are too loose are asking for legal trouble.
