MT LCC reliable info...please help!

OK--I have seen the pics and heard the news and I have decided to bite the bullet and buy my first MT and my first auto...the MT LCC!

BUT...my decision is not final yet. I have to try to determine the finish and the blade type.

Assumption 1: There will be only ONE blade design (like the proto pics)
Assumption 2: The serrated versions are available in each blade finish.

Question: Can someone post a pic or two of the different types of finishes like Anopeen, Stonewashed, beadblasted, etc? I AM SO CONFUSED!

I want one...but I don't know which will be the best for my use as a true carry/user knife for everyday. I tend to use the knives that I buy..I cannot afford to buy this type of high priced model and not enjoy it. (It's high priced to me that is.)

SO....in conclusion...does anyone have any pics of blade finishes (not necessarily the LCC) that can be posted side-by-side for me to compare? AND...what would you suggest for me...

As I understand it, their is stonewashed, bead blasted, and blk. ti. Anopeen has been dropped because it takes to long, or is too expensive to both. I would have liked to have seen "anopeen," but my choice is definately stonewashed. I don't understand why they still offer bead blasted though...they should offer satin finished, stonewashed, and blk. ti.

Sproles,
Based on the latest info I've seen from MT, Jackyl has hit the nail on the head in his post. Personally I like the stonewashed finish. Take a look at a standard Sebenzas (of which pictures abound) and you'll get a good feel for what a stonewashed finish looks like.

The MT LCC DA is going to be an AWESOME knife! I have a little insight as I have one of the Protos. EVERYONE that has touched it has loved it and most have placed orders for thier own.

I have yet to see the Black-T version of the LCC and am eagerly awaiting to see exactly what the look is going to be. One nice thing is that the MA versions should be out real soon, so you will be able to gauge from them which DA you want.

As for the "Stonewashed" finished, Patrick has a Stonewashed HaloIII in his "What's New" section.

Chris Reeve is the other manufacturer that does this finish, so if you can locate a Sebenza locally, you can get an idea.

This is what CRK has on their web site about the finish:

How are the folding knife blades finished?

The blades on the regular models of the large and small Sebenzas and the Umfaan are finished with what has become known as
our stonewash finish. We accomplish this finish by tumbling the blades in an aggressive ceramic media. These ceramic stones polish the blade in every direction possible giving the surface a non-reflective or glazed appearance. On the decorated models, the hollow grind is polished on a cork belt giving a more traditional satin finish, an elegant contrast to the stonewashed flat surface of the blade. Both finishes are equally corrosion resistant and they all give better corrosion resistance than bead blasting or acid etch.

Hope this helps a little.

Also, here a bunch of pictures I took at MT last week, including a bunch of the LCC MAs being manufactured.

Sweet pics, John. MT should link your pics to their website..as of now their site's pretty minimal on information and pics.

I agree with Jackyl on this one. MT should offer the LCC with a Satin finish as well. Skip the Bead blast IMHO.

That would be cool though...I'd much rather have a satin blade, than a stonewashed one on this knife. Thanks for the info. Valmet.
