Mt. Rainier

I see you hiked the loop trail in Paradise. Splendid area. If possible, you should try to get there around the first two weeks in August, during a warm year after a wet year, to see the wildflowers in their full splendor.

Ahhhhhh, the best vacation I ever had was 17 1/2 years ago, camping and hiking. The hiking on Mt. Rainier was the best!! It was a blast throwing snow balls, and sliding down the snow, in jeans and a tee shirt, in August!! I had the best time ever!! Thanks for bring back those memories.

I bought a CRKT Mt. Rainier a few years ago, i'd like to climb that damn mountain more than own the knife though. The only mountain i've been to is mount Pelion in Trenton Ontario. It's only a hill...trust me, if i can make it up there after crackin' my spine only days before, it's no more than a hill. Here's a pic from the top. I used the zoom, but it was a good view. Those pictures of yours though...they're great, i love nature photography.

Took a few pics of Mt Ranier while on honeymoon, didn't get a chance to hike it though because we only flew in/out of Seattle to spend our honeymoon on Vancouver Isl.

This was off an empty pier in the 50-60 range, on our last night in the PacNW, and is the best one of the bunch that I took of the mountain:

A friend of the family is an avid rock climber, and wants to tackle Mount Rainier. Looks like a lot of fun. Thanks for the pics.

For those of you wondering; the metal arches in the background are from Safeco Field on the left, Qwest field to the right of that. Respective homes of the Seattle Mariners and our beloved Seahawks!!!

Also you can see a ferry either leaving or arriving at the Fauntleroy ferry dock.

EDIT: I may have the locations reversed on the fields. Getting your bearings from a photo can be difficult.

Seattle is one of the most beautiful cities in which to live. Every time we have a clear day (especially those "extra" clear days...like today), it's so breathtaking when out driving to round a corner or crest a hill and see Mount Rainier, Mount Baker, the Olympics, the Cascades, Puget Sound, Lake Washington, Elliot Bay, or any of our other fine mountains or bodies of water. I can't tell you how many times I've wanted to pull over (like on the side of the freeway) and just look at Mount Rainier or the Olympics! The sun shining off the Olympics with Puget Sound in the foreground is one of my all-time favorites. I'd often see that while driving down in Edmonds or Mukilteo. Here are several images showing what I'm talking about: image 1, image 2, image 3, image 4, image 5, image 6...some are not the best images. Though only only a so-so picture, #6 is what I looked at every clear morning going to work. It was almost a religious experience! In this region, the mix between a beautiful urban city and up-close natural beauty is literally stunning. There's not much that would make me want to move away (maybe a warmer climate to drive topless!).
