Instead of searching for countless hours on the forums for the answers I called MT and asked one of the tech guys what "silver" finish meant. He told me, first the blades were beadblasted and then sent off to be coated with chromium nitrate or "CN". This is to piggyback the string I posted on the old forum about this topic. Just continuing it here.

How well does the CN stay on the blade?
Will MT re-coat the blade if it wears off?

I don't believe anybody recoats knives for scratching. Because I think if they recoated it, they would have to re-etch the logo, etc.

End result is too much trouble for the company.

Is the "silver" finish the same as the "anopeen" finish. If not, what's the difference?

I think anopeen is the finish where it is stonewash with a hard clear coating...

From what I gathered in my conversation with MT, and my limited knowledge of this coating, it is similar to the black coating but is better for salt water application. I once had a Emerson commander with a CN coated blade and called them to ask the question as well. They stated the coating brings the rockwell of the blade up a bunch of points as well as providing outstanding corrosion resistance. I also asked about the cleaning and maintinance of the coating. Emerson said they use WD-40 for the care of the CN coating. Just wipe it down every once and a while. I'm sure that's the same for the MT CN coating.

Anopeen is stonewash with a light beadblast over it.

I read somewhere that anopeen is a kind of beadblasting where they used small steel balls? for blasting instead of glas beads or sand. Well...umm. I can be wrong

Anopeen is stonewash with bead blast over it. It's better than regular bead blast in that the stone washing help seal the pores of the steel, before the bead blasting. Better corrosion resistance is also the outcome.

The Anopeen finish is a Bead Blast with different material of glass bead giving the blade a subdued Ball-Peen finish..
It was done by a Company called Anolaze which MT no longers uses..
Hence the name Anopeen..
The Anopeen Finish was a limited number on the MT's..
I may add it looks great..
Take Care..
