I am thinking of buying a MT vector. I was searching for posts in the forum about this knive and found someone said that there is a rubber inserts in the knive. what is the "rubber inserts" ? anybody know?

It means there are indentations in the handle into which have been attached textured rubber pads (inserts). The rubber pads are to make the knife easier to grip and hold on to.

I don't like rubber inserts, but that's just me. It's an individual taste.

I have a vector from when they were first made. Very nice knife, locks up nice and solid. Easy to open and close, and good blade steel.
Mine hasn't been used in a while because I was stupid enough to let someone use it, and they hacked through some live wires. Messed up the blade a bit.

The rubber will stay in place prety well, but it can also be pried out and replaced with other material, like rayskin.

So do you call your friend "Sparky" or "Flash"?

Call him Kentucky, as in Fried Chicken.

My daughter did the same thing with a Mora Clipper, and I think the plastic handle was all that saved her from worse than blasting a chunk out of the blade.

Haha.. what I called him is not suitable for public discussion on this forum. Lets just say he handed me the knife, apologised, and then we didnt speak for about a month. He never touched anything of mine again.
It took about 30 minutes grinding it with a dremel to get most of the chunks smoothed out, but in my heart the knife was never the same. I will pick another one up, just to have sooner or later.

HAHA true enough.
I will say the videos are enormously entertaining to watch!
