OK who's the best out there for side opener automatics? I have a LCC D/A, Socom Elite Tanto A and Kestral A so I'm kind of partial, but a magazine called Tinives the Mercedes of auto's and speedtech's are also highly regrded, although out of business. So who's the best?

I may be wrong but I don't think that Speedtech made auto's. I have a manual Speedtech and love it though.
As far as MT vs. TiNives, I don't own any TiNives but I think it would be pretty hard to beat MT for a production auto.
You may want to ask this on the Auto Forum also.

OK, since this is not the MT forum, I am kinda safe here. I am a big MT fan, great knives. But I just got my first Tinives. It is the small model, 3.25. Same size as MT's mini socom. I did a comparsion between the Ti and the MT mini socom Brend. The Ti won. No contest. It is better made. Both have a solid lock up, no blade play. The differance is the Ti is much smoother and also quicker, has a better snap and is solid. The Ti also cost more. Proof again, you get what you pay for. Here is the one I got. Get one, you will be amazed at the quality of this one. My next one will also be a Ti. http://www.bladeforums.com/ubb/Forum50/HTML/000035.html

I'm also a big fan of MT's, but Hawaiian's right about TiNives. I think it depends on what you're going to use the knife for. TiNives are more of a "gentleman's" knife in apearance. While the MT's are more of a heavy user design. If I was going camping, I'd take my SE, to a wedding, my Gold Series.

Both companies make great knives, you can't go wrong with either one.
