MTech - Simonich?

A google search for "mtech simonich" returns nothing related, except an ebay link. Even "simonich Kootenai" turns up nothing. I highly doubt there's any true connnection between Rob Simonich and this MTech knife, other than MTech simply ripping it off. MTech is a notorious knockoff company. They steal designs, giving no credit (let alone royalties) to those they steal from (living or deceased).

If it's legit (and I doubt it is), perhaps R.W.Clark can confirm it.
 
I think that was one of Mike Turbers deals. He still has some knives of mine that he never returned.

Yep. IIRC this is the Parasite, by BOSS - probably M-Tech's former name or something. I think them using Rob's design is (or was) legit.
 
I know that model is the Parasite. And it WAS a Mike Turber thing w/Rob, but MTech as far as I know has NOTHING to do with that, and in fact is the brand that ripped off Mike's designs before he could even get the product launched. Boss using the design WAS legit, but the MTech is just a rip-off and the Simonich family/company gets nothing from the deal. That's why Rob's name isn't on it. Pathetic. I think there's a special place in Hell for people who steal from the dead.

Oops, so M-Tech ripped off BOSS designs...but I think it's not very far-fetched to assume that both companies have (or in the case of BOSS, had) their stuff made in the very same factory in China.
 
My understanding is that M-Tech IS the factory that Boss knives had contracted. The got all of Boss' designs and put them out themselves. Thake this with a grain of salt though

Rob signed that design over with Mike Turber's BOSS knife line a few years back.

This is correct. Mike went to another Chinese company after Mtech's unauthorized release of the BOSS designs. It wasn't long after that, that BOSS was no more and Mike started selling motorscooters I think.
