Before I start, I've read the how to post and watched a few videos. Before cleaning lockup was ~75%, after it's at ~40%. Is this ok or should I troubleshoot, and how? Opens smooth, just had noticeably earlier lockup

Try unscrewing the pivot screw (but leave the pivot in) and giving the knife a slight flick open to seat the blade. Start with the blade about 75% open and just give it a light flick so that the lock is engaged, screw it in, then close. Can't say for sure if it will work, or why it does, but it has for me in the past. If it doesn't just take the whole knife apart and start again. Check for lint or anything that might be blocking the stop pin. And clean the part of the blade that engages with the lock and the lockface.

I'll try that thanks!

Just to make sure are you referring to a Sebenza? If so my guess is the stop pin rotated from where it previously was. I have not had a Sebenza go from 75 to 40% but I have had 60 to 40% so I'd say it's plenty possible. This is especially noticeable if it has been in one position for a long time because opening the blade will peen the stop pin a bit. Rotate it to a fresh spot and lockup should be earlier.

I rotated the stop pin and it was relatively the same early lockup. Started from square one, tried the light flick trick to seat the blade and voila it's back at the original higher lockup. Thanks gents.

Glad you got it sorted out, I always give the blade one light flick after a cleaning and it seems to get everything all settled in.
