I beat it, drown it, feed it, and generally use it hard. Can you tell?

My "The Knife" doesn't have a name, it is simply referred to as "My 2". Its a fall back comrade, a rider, destined to be with me when I think I need more than a knife.

So far it hasn't let me down, and its getting ready to have the "beauty" button reset. Today, it goes to the spa. I will be cleaned, de-rusted, sharpened and put back in action almost immediately. Planning on doing a bonfire tonight with Ma Gurlz, and my 2 will be there.

Feel free to share you dirty, rusted up, beat to hell BK2's. All others need not apply. :D

Looks great... i got one of those but ended up selling her after a while.

The only problem it seemed to me was that it was kinda uncomfortable to backpack, because it weighed so much.

There's nothing quite like a well-used knife! One of these days I'll talk myself into getting a 2.

Great looking 'old friend' you have there Moose!

My BK2 is not nearly as beat up, but I love it just the same.

That "2" aint no safe queen! That's for sure! The BK2 was made to be used and abused. You are showing what she was born to do. Looks great!
Cheers

Someone please get Oregon a sharpening stone. He's using gravel again. :D

That is a workhorse right there Fal'er. How long have you had that little guy?

I also trust the BK2 to always do what I ask....it is a Tank and I likes it. I got a second one just because.....that's how good they are.

I have beat the hell out of my first 2, tested stuff on it, practiced filing on it, cut, hammered and batoned anything I could think of with it. It was looking worse then yours, so it went to the spa a couple weeks ago.

great thread Moose. This is part of the reason i love the BK2 the best. She takes a lickin and keeps on tickin.

Nice "user",can it make a wienie roasting stick from an American Hackberry branch?Would it rust if you took it fishing up on Thunderhead prong?I take knives made from surgical stainless steel when I head up there because I worry about rust.

This is my before picture.
I've knocked some of the scratches out and blued the blade.
Now working on some changes to the factory sheath.

I love this knife! Easily the best knife I've purchased in a really long time!

I haven't beaten mine up too hard yet. I actually like the way it's starting to look. I wasn't happy with the way that I etched the entire blade, so I've spent hours... literally, probably approaching 12 hours, maybe more... between multiple days... hand sanding the grind edge down on my 2. I've gone through 120, 220, 400, and 600 grit... still some swirls you can see... I'd like to bring it even higher... but I'm pretty happy with how it's turning out now. All that hand sanding gave it a pretty killer convex edge too!

I'm thinking about getting another one to do...something... else to. I've considered selling this one.. or just trading it for a new one to start over... but I dunno. It's my first Becker... I'll probably hang on to it.

Here a couple of quick pics out by the pool. Ignore the bird poop... stupid pigeons like to come and crap on them during the day.

I'm interested in the teqnique used to remove the rust. My machax got some heavy use the other day and I noticed it was starting to rust up. I thought about hand sanding it but im afraid i might bologna cut my finger from Clich's mean convex. I think Ive waited long enough, i need a 2....

Thunderhead prong is one of my favorite streams to fish in GSMNP.

I would love to post some pictures of my 2 for all to see...

...but alas, it was stolen from my car about a month ago. Fail.

After reading about how great the BK2 was I decided to buy one. Mine is still new out of the box. It has only seen the leather strop.
