There's one on a certain auction site, I would have PM'd you, but, your inbox is full. Best of luck and sorry if I broke any forum rules.

Well, happy grail hunting! Those are almost as pretty as they are rare! ;)

Mud Razors weren't satin finished. They were muddy. Tan handles with a muddy brown coating. It was a 2006 mil overrun. As seen here (with a regular Hell Razor):

The Mud Razor is the one with the lighter handle and the darker coating. The Hell Razor's the one with the CBT, the magnum handle, and the logo.

I haven't had my Mud Razor out in a decade. It seems to have rusted under the coating, which is causing the coating to flake off along the spine. That's a bit of flaked off coating on the cutting board. Bummer.

Wow! That is awesome! So what's the story behind these rare beauties???

Here's what Jerry said when they were offered in 2006:

Before there was a Hell Razor. . . there was a special military run of these killer blades. . . We call it the Desert Mud Razor!!!!

There aren't many of this one-time-only offering. They will be offered during this weekend's Microscopic Extravaganzaaaaaa!!!!

No corrugations on this one. . . and a very unique night op brown coating coupled with a desert tan canvas micarta handle . . . Think of it as a down and dirty Hell Razor with attitude!!!

The price on these is awesome for a blade this rare!!! :D

You can not order until this weekend's Extravaganzaaaaa. . . . Stay tuned for details!!!!

Jerry

Price was $247 for those who scored.

JTT, I'll risk the tetanus and dispose of that rusty defect for you!

Thanks for the offer, but I don't think I need disposal services just yet. I know from experience that if I send it in, they'll recoat it for me.

Worth a shot... you know, I'm here to help. :D

Woa, that is rather large flake.
Is it common for unused old infi to flake off like that due to underneath rust?

It so very is!!!
I'd say that you're best off sending all the 'old infi' to someone in Australia (I'm more than happy to do the service for you) to return the rusty stuff back to the iron veins that they originated from

Thanks for the info & pictures, John the Texican!
That's reassuring about the recoat.
Not that I need anything recoated or repaired.
More like I just enjoy hearing good things
regarding Busse, knives & people!

I had it happen one other time, also with a FBM from the original run (around 2006). Those two amount to less than 5% of the coated INFI blades that I have from that era.

Garth said to send the FBM in to the shop and they'd take care of it. And they did.

I had a Mud Razor once...for some reason I ended up selling all but one of my HR's...not 100% sure why.

Only one I have left is a bad-ass thinfi FFG I bought from a long time member here.

I have three Hellrazors, two of them from OP2W1. I’ll never get rid of one of them. Best blade ever.

Not if you use it, like you’re supposed to. Busse blades get bored if all you do is store them. Boredom leads to problems... like rusting, flaking... all sorts of problems. If you have a bored INFI blade, it will give you problems. Take it from someone who has experienced the misbehavior of a bored INFI blade. If she’s flaking, she’s bored. Best to at least give her a run to loosen up. If you don’t, you’re just asking for more problems.

And if you don’t want to spend the money on shipping, I’m willing to provide the same services here in the States. It’s hard to treat a Busse blade right. I’m here to help.

good for you,haha.
Start a thread in WTB if your wanting something in particular.

Hmmmm....I've got a CS HHFSH. Great blade, and a totally different flavor from the Hell Razor. Probably need both.
