Taking orders now for January delivery.

The story behind the name.

Legend has it that the Potawatomi Indians were attracted to the area which is now Mokena, (my hometown for 60 years), because of a large slough full of fish and turtles. They lived in the area for several years until a draught came that dried up the slough, turning it into a large mud hole, with only the turtles remaining alive. They called the area Mud Turtle, which supposedly in English translates to Mokena. True story? I don`t know but it sounds better than calling it Mud Hole.

That is Beautiful! Great looking piece, John.

Good luck with it.

Edit: I like the name and the story to go with it.

you drive a hard bargin to ignore, john, if full height grind an option?

...if I can wrestle it past my conscience expect an email soon ;)

That looks great! I wish I could get on the list before the special ends, but I doubt it.
This just checks so many of my boxes:
Big blade
FFG(that's how I'd get it anyways)
Contoured handles
Large handle
And great steel
I will definitely be keeping this model in mind when it comes time for my next knife.

I did not think we allowed Hoosiers.
John is a very inclusive host I guess!

Welcome! I'm just over the border in Lansing, IL

Hoosiers been infiltrating for quite some time sir. I'm a long time JK supporter and forum member lol.

John this looks like a hell of a knife sir. Ffg and a fire steel loop on the sheath and you have an amazing woods knife imo. This is definitely one of my favorite looking blades you have come out with recently

I wish I had moved to Indiana, rather than Illinois the last time I bought a house. Almost made it, about 12 blocks from the border. Most of my shopping is in Indiana. I think I would look as a Hoosier!

Mud Turtle looks good John!
Growing up in nearby Tinley Park, we were told that Mokena meant something all together different, but this being a family forum, I will digress from topic!
