I took a part of a day a couple of weeks ago to visit my very good friend Roger Mudbone Jones in his Waverly Ohio shop. The forge wasn't up that day, but a number of knives in various stages were going through the strokes.

His shop is remarkably simple. There are very few pieces of machinery. Most of his work is via good old elbow grease and blacksmithing skills.

Mudbone has told me many times in the past that his knives are made for hard use. I believe him :) . Take the tour and see the beating his knives will take.

Tour Mudbone's shop and watch him test out one of his knives!!

Stay tuned for more!!

Mudbone forges all of his knives. Here is the forge

Testing the cutting and edge holding ability of a knife... Mudbone hacks them through stag!

He shows me the hardness of the steel as well as edge holding ability. He id hammering the edge of this knife along the edge of an anvil, and removing steel from the anvil.

Still hacks up the wood nicely

Roger Jones is something else. His knives have that old world look and feel that only a few can match. Besides he plays the he(( out of the blues. Hence the name Mudbone.

I will be back there in a couple of weeks and will get some new shots.
