What do you hogs think of the Muddy Meaner Street?

Would it be a good knife to start up a Busse collection?

How does it do for camping and etc? handle comfortability?

Happy new year!

mike

It would be a great knife to start with:thumbup:

And you can get in one at a good price at that!

The meaner is a great knife!

oh yeah- the micarta handles feel great on this one. and if you don't need to chop it would make a great camp knife.

My first Busse was a Leaner Meaner, same design, .150 vs .190 for the Muddy (Muddy designates a handle/coating combo).

I think its the perfect EDC, maybe a little small for all around camp use.

You can't go wrong with any of the Meaner variations IMO

There was a poll recently between the Meaner, AD and GW for favorite EDC, lots of good comments there.

Hey Guyon, am I on topic ??

:D

I kicked off my Busse collection with a muddy meaner. I love it. It's a daily user and I have re-profiled the edge to about 18 degrees. Now it really cuts. I do really want a leaner meaner.

thanks guys for the input!

I dont think I will enjoy edcing a fixed, but I need one for camping.

I find the muddy meaner to be...how should I say it...not very pretty...and shouting to be abused.

:D

The muddy meaner is a sweet knife, but any INFI you can get your hands on is a good start for a collection.

Pull the trigger, start the ADDICTION!

not a real pretty knife Id have to say. But looks ready to be used!

Does the Busse store sell different micarta scales for them?

I edc mine sometimes. I gotta say tho, the meaner has some really nice curves that i never noticed untill I actuall held it. Now I think it's one of the best looking small fixed blades I've ever seen. I am of the opinion that scratches and scuff marks add to a knives character. You can't really see it in the picture, but my meaner is accumulating some nice wear. Mine is a user, and I use it to the peak of it's abilities, but i never abuse it. I got a sweet sheath from chuddy bear too.

Chuddy bear makes great sheats. That meaner sheath holds the knife as tightly as any kydex sheath i've owned.

EDC pile.

No, you can't buy seperate scales at the BCS. Busse can put scales on, but I don't think you want go that route on your first knife.

There are some more recent meaner combos on the exchange as well.

I think the tan scales match the muddy coating very well. Only slabs I like on muddy.

now that I see it in a different light, it looks pretty good. ;)

The MS is an excellent choice.

The AD (smaller) and SJTAC (bigger) also make good camp knives.

BlazenGem, I don't know if you can tell from the pics, but the Meaner only has a 3.5 inch cutting surface that's only 1 inch wide with a 4.5 inch long (thin) handle. I say "only" cuz you prefaced that you were interested in it for camp use? It's a bit small for that, which is why folks keep mentioning it's EDC use. It's great for that.

My favorite all around camper in my collection is the Badger Attack (2nd would be Hell Razor). It's got a hefty 5 inch blade that's 2 inches wide with a 5 inch handle. The 5 and 6 inch blade knives with wider blades make the work a little easier, ya know?

BATACs are my favorite looking busse. I just got an LE, and it is awesome. Can't wait to take it camping.
