Muela Condor and Aquila Hunting Knives

I have a Muela Mirage hunting knife, not a condor... there is nothing exceptionnal to say about Muela knives. The overall assembly is well done and it will widthstand hard use to the limit of the materials used.
The mirage (23) has a 7 1/2 stainless 440 blade and kraton handle. For this knife I like the comfortable handle that won't slip even when wet, I dislike the type of the guard (I should have taken a Condor ;) , but a wooden handle for prolonged use is painful ), some day I will cut off the top part of the guard...

Hi roderic41

I bought a Condor in Barcelona a few years back and I was quite impressed with quality considering the rather low price. I have not used it much but it takes and holds an edge well. The geometri of the wide blade is very good, with a nice thin edge. The tapered tang gives the knife a good balance. Overall a good buy.

I have the Condor. Very nice knife. I really want the Gavilan. In my opinion the only thing that isn't quite right with this series is the brass bolster - would prefer stainless or nickel. The tang is actually tapered, why I don't know because this results in a blade heavy knife. The Gavilan still sports plenty of blade but should balance a little better. And, I prefer the drop point design. Additionally the handle which feels a tiny bit short on the Condor should be perfect on the Gavilan.
These are not small knives as the blade is quite wide.
