I possess this beautiful Muela Dagger; I received from my good friend in the late 1980’s. I don’t know what I have other than it is a Muela Cazatur – 16” long with a 10 inch blade.

It was, I think, purchased in Spain in the 1970’s. It has both a boar’s head and a stag head. The blade is signed “Muela” on one side and Ricardo Muela signature with a rams head logo and the word CAZATUR on the other side. It has a plain double edge with no grind. The stag handle has a round medallion with the number 10 in silver on one side and wrapped with the stag antlers. The pommel has a miniature full stag on the butt. The sheath is leather and metal or silver.

If you could tell me what the “10” represents, if all the metal work on the handle and the sheath is silver or something else?

Welcome to Bladeforums. There's a thread towards the top of the list (in the yellow area) entitled "NEW MEMBERS:: Please read this :: WHAT IS MY KNIFE WORTH?"

Welcome to the forum, x2.

There is a sub-forum here for ID'ing knives, hosted by Bernard Levine; a friendly mod will probably move this there.

You will get more results if you post a pic, if you cannot post it directly then you can upload it to a site like Photobucket and post a link, there is a tutorial in that forum.

Good luck, we've had quite a few people posting about knives from Spain lately.

Luvs2work,

You found a great website for identifying and gaining info on knives and outdoor tools. However, the best way to get an answer for a question like yours would be to post a picture of your knife.

To do this the easiest way would to create an acount at a public photo hosting site such as photobucket and copy AMD pasting the url. or code here.

You will find a better write-up for how to post pics here. http://www.bladeforums.com/forums/showthread.php/742638-TUTORIAL-Displaying-your-photographs-on-BladeForums

Best of luck,
Alex
