About to pull the trigger on a Mule folder. Just wanted to know if anyone has owned a Mule for a while and what their impression of it is, especially the lock-up. I read a thread somewhere that recommended the Taiwan made model (Zytel handle) over the one made in Chine (with the G-10 handle). Thanks in advance.

I've had a Tan one with black partly serrated blade for a few years now. Lockup is solid and I have no worries about it.

The Mule 3050 is a very good folder and crazy sharp out of the box. The only downside is the weight. The blade has a slight play but the lock-up is very solid.

I use this knife a lot and like it very much.

Thanks for the replies. For some reason, there seems to be very little info/reviews of this knife. I'm a fan of big folders, so I don't mind the weight.

Big folders are popular on Bladeforums, but most people seem buy the modern and styles more. Frankly I love a good clip point folder or fixed blade. Thats probably why I have a Mule, Large Heavy Bowie, Buck 110, Buck 119, Western L36, Fletcher Operator 575 and so on. Lots of nice Clip points to choose from in my collect. ;)
