David Martin took another really nice Mulie with his bow this week. He got a chance to use that Amboyna Burl DP I gave him a while back. Here are some really good action photos.

Well,I've been sneeking around.Frustrated some too.Happier now.I'd been chasing one better but he never offered me a shot.Their smarter than you think.:thumbup:Be glad for what you get.The 110 drop pt.worked great. No punctures in the stomach.DM

Good job David. Good Buck, and Buck. I wish gun season was open
in Texas.Thanks for shairing.

Wow Dave,

Another very nice Buck!! That smile says it all..."Happiness is having your arms up to your elbows inside of a steaming warm chest cavity" ;). Our Deer season will start in two weeks; we got drawn for a very special X zone area. I can't wait.

JB,Ok your turn next to post pictures after this special hunt.
I also used a clip point 110 AG for the caping. For years now I've used a regular 110 for that procedure either in a 2 dot or 3 dot. As I like the way its thin pointy tip works for that type cutting. Its very narrow working and you'll hit a lot of bone doing this and it will require sharpening.Even as it did me w/ S30V but my Taxidermist was happy.Try it sometime and see what you think. Its not a easy affair.Takes about 1 1/2 hrs. tedious knife work.DM

Nice Mulie David! Thanks for the action photos. Its not very often that we actually see a dirty Buck knife on this forum! :)

Good luck on that X zone hunt JB. We used to drool over the statistics for those zones but we lived too far away to be able to get up there and scout. Plus getting drawn is a bit tough if I remember right.

You guys started it.....

Seeing and hearing all this deer talk made me go reach to bottom of freezer for last years friend whitetail give-away forkhorn. Grill was heating up, momma gone to tend her momma. Meat grinder out, deer chunks and a little bacon down the hatch. Discontined 121 used in kitchen, have couple three. It's a southwest thing........300Bucks

Double ground, with a little bacon.

Sorry guys I don't like onion. Home grown tomatoes Beverage of your choice. Stayed out on the porch and ate and listened to the high school band over at the stadium.........life goes on.

Great Buck David! Our bow season (whitetail) here starts Oct 1. I put the finishing touches on my bow setup yesterday and shot so well I decided I'd better quit. Hopefully I'll have some pics to post in the near future. Gotta love those action pics!

WHOAAAAAAA!Great pictures and mulie!thats better eating than any big one you'll ever find,i always go for meat over antlers,i'm the odd guy at deer camp.lol Drop points are nice looking wissh i had one in my hunting arsenal.congrates on the buck you dressed with the buck.lol!

300,I knew you'd do something like that. And I love deer burger.
Tony,I had been looking for you on this.I told the wife--he must be tending to that new baby or something.Yes, our season is in Sept..Hope you can post something in Oct..Are you going to use your 110 Custom this year? Razor, glad to see you in here. Its been a while so,I was wondering.I was glad Flat helped me stir things up a bit to get the Fall season kicked off.Hope you guys put me to shame.Good luck, working your Bucks.(double entendre)
PS. In all this processing I didn't cut myself once.My wife was amazed! I did get cut, not bad though from quartering near a broadhead blade, unnoticed in the shoulder area.Just watch it.DM

Knice Bucks Dave, No safe queens in the Martin household I see:thumbup:

Hi Fritz,Well,Plumber and I have been talking after I got my first Aurum etched 110 on the Harley Davidson series (Humble Beginnings II)and--- I really like those.Don't tell anyone as I have a reputation at stake but I don't plan on using it.DM:eek:

David, I will give each of my users equal opportunity to get work in the field. My custom may get the work as it did last year. I have the new ergo hunter pro with the separate gut hook tool, a BP110, Cabelas AG110, and the BG-42 G10 scaled 110 that will get some hip time. Can't wait!!! As far as knives to field dress go, in my teenage years, a friend of mine found himself without his knife after he had killed a nice 8 pt. He used one blade from a broad head to complete the field dressing. By the way, it's kinda funny seeing you field dress wearing only a t-shirt. It's warm enough here for that sometimes, but imagine doing the work when it is 5 degrees...been there done that.
