Good Day,

When Sal Glesser of Spyderco first proposed the Mule Team knives, he did so with the assumption that there would be those who would provide the handles and sheaths necessary to make the knives useful.

Now, as we know, he was right, Halpern Titanium, soon Blind Horse Knives, and a whole slew of hobbyists and custom knife makers have stepped up to the plate and delivered handles.

Similarly, sheath makers have provided their products, and among them is a product sold by Forum member JLS.

And, now to the photos....

First we have a photo of the leather sheath, with a Chinese Mule handled by JLS hisself.

An image from the fold of the sheath, showing the belt loop.

And the back of the sheath, showing the sturdy construction and the double stitching of the belt loop. And, while there is a bit of extra dye on my example, yours will not feature, only us fancy reviewers get that!

The sheath easily held all the models, though the scales with thinner scales or the cord wrap did not hold as securely, of course, that could be remedied very easily, and I will let JLS tell you how to do that.

All told, this is a well made leather sheath, built specifically for the Mule.

Thank you,
Marion

Yea, I know this is an old thread. But is this guy still making these sheaths? If so, how do I go about contacting him? I need one for my Mule and I really like the looks of this sheath.

Try doing a search on his name in the Good, Bad, and Ugly and see if you still want to try and buy a sheath from him.

Sounds like there's a story here. Going to have to check that out.

Edit: Yea, I see your point. Found a local guy on here (Rick Lowe). He's local (about 2 hours south of me) and I really like his sheaths. Already sent him an email to see if he can set me up.

Try Leatherman here on the forums too. He does high quality work and he is a standup guy.

Just for clarification, I know the reviewer's reputation is "less than stellar", but is the sheath maker's?
