OK, yesterday I crossed off a bucket list wanna-do by visiting the Spyderco Factory Outlet (see the Spyderco manufacturers forum) and came away with a nifty little blade, a Mule Team in CPM 20CV, a steel I've never tried. Mule Team blades are a little bonus from Sal Glesser (one of the most innovative knife designer/makers around), for certain people obsessed with different steel types. Some may actually be members of BladeForums. Anyway, having played with it a bit, and not even cut myself yet, which is amazing considering it is probably the sharpest out-of-the-box edge I have ever experienced, hair-topping sharp, I am more than impressed. Flat, light, it will make a great FB EDC once I've made a pocket sheath with a substantial welt... I've already had hip surgery on the left, and really don't want to repeat on the right. Great light-weight backpacking blade, too. Must get to studying a paracord wrap until theG-10 grips are available again (currently out of stock).

I can second ordering directly from halpern. They have been very forthcoming even when shipping to Germany.

Another thumbs up for Halpern -- quick and easy. They were great. I love my mule micarta handles.

Wish Halpern had more Micarta options. Right now I'm only seeing Natural, Olive Drab, and Burgundy.

CPM 20v is a amazing steel and has to be my newest favorite choice in steels. M390 is said to be the same or close to same also. Right now I have knife blades in CruWear,30v,35v,M390,M4, 3v, CPM 90v,Elmax and many others.

I’m new to many of these super steels have owned and used a lot of Elmax in the past finding it a really great steel overall for my uses.

CPM 20v takes a extremely polished edge and can be made wicked sharp even by me :)
I like it better overall than my CPM 90v blades personally. I haven’t owned a CPM 110V blade so can’t compare it to 20v or 90v.
