With Spyderco proving it can successfully machine blades out of 10V, K390, and Maxamet, I wonder if we could see some heavy hitting rivals made of 15V, Vanadis 10, and Rex 121, all at 64 to 68 RC or more. Sintered ceramics, composite blades with tungsten or cobalt (or even vanadium) carbide edges, 52100 laminated with stainless damascus, hell, 3V and 10V damascus. A Rex 121 core with H1 laminate made into a fully serrated edge that leaves the teeth as H1 and the serrated portions as REX121? Where's the limit? What's up next?

Ummm, a big fat hole in my wallet.

one thing i love about the mule program is the relatively lower price points and interesting steels. although the size of the mule limits what can be done with it for various steels. not for cutting but other tasks where a bigger blade would show how the steel could perform. course spyderco doesnt make a whole lot of bigger fixed blades so i guess its an irrelevant point. still, id like to see a mule plus with a bigger blade, etc.

There was talk of Rex121...

There was talk of a bronze mule...

Perhaps we will see a ceramic mule at some point...

You would think that LC200N would make it into the lineup...

Sal told me that they did make a few test knives in S150V and that they were Militaries. It didn't sound like it was a practical steel to work with. I would like to play with some S150V though. :D
