Multi-Angle sharpners?

I found one at walmart for like $20 or $30, it comes with three different type stones, and several angles. Is this good? I'm trying to sharpen both fixed and folding knives. Mostly my SOG X-Ray Vision.

If that is no good, what is? I don't like just using an arkansas stone and oil, because then the angle isn't as uniform. I have heard good things about the Spyderco sharper, what price should I expect for that?

Anything you buy from Walmart is probably crap (personal opinion) except the plain stones and possibly sand paper. The Spyderco is very good as is the Lansky which some claim to be better. Price is around $50 if you look around I believe. Refer to a recent post "Spyderco vs. Lansky" for more action-packed responses (lots of information on both sharpeners there)

I would not say anything you buy from Walmart is probably crap (personal opinion):D

I have not tried the wal mart one. What I have tried is the Razor Edge System.
It works great for me and it has taught me how to sharpen better free hand.
IMO the razor edge book is worth reading no matter what you decide to use for sharpening equipment.

I also have good luck using DMT diamond hones. I had been using the 2x6" hones until a few days ago when I got a Duo DMT 4x10". I find the larger size easier to use with knives that are over 6".
