Multi-quoting - glitch or PEBCAK?

I searched around but I couldn't find any recent threads addressing this. I've noticed that in the larger threads, using the multi-quote option (toggling the checkmarks, then hitting the "Reply with Quote" option on the last post) works flawlessly one time in each thread. Unfortunately, the second and third and fourth and etc. time you use the multi-quote feature, it "remembers" the quotes from the last time you used them and adds them ALL to your reply window. In an especially-busy forum this can ultimately lead to hundreds of outdated quotes that have to be manually deleted (plus since the numbering system we can see is different from the one the software uses, even the post numbers encapsulated in the
bbcode are unhelpful.

Doesn't "Reply with Quote" supposedly toggle/clear the selections? If not, shouldn't it? Or am I missing an obvious feature/command that can reset the quote selections for a thread so I don't have to go back, find each individual post I selected for quoting, and clear the checkbox? Any help would be greatly appreciated. :D

Try clearing your cookies. The glitch may be in your system.

BTW what's PEBCAK?

Doug offered a comprehensive answer. It is also occasionally known as an "I.D. Ten T" problem (spelled out - ID10T) or a biological interface error. :D

I have checked cookies but I think it was something more fundamental. I finally found my way into the "non-quick" reply form and the option to clear "quoted posts" was present, so I'll just chalk it up to a faulty keyboard controller. :p

They're all very good ! :)
PICNIC does it for me though and hope to use it someday...
