Hiya boyos, so heres teh question, ive been thinking about finding a replacement for my Skeletool CX recently (my mother bless her heart thinks its "too scary") and so im looking for a medium to fullsize tool of about the same thickness to replace it, i was thinking about the Juice Xe6 but i handled one today and its far too thick for my tastes. so i was wondering, whats the closest thing thickness wise? Comparison pics would be appreciated.also, i would like scissors and a serrated edge on the tool, If possible

i Tried this in the multi-tool sub-forum but i wasn't getting quite the reactions i was looking for

Cheers!

The Titanium Charge is way less scary looking and its not too heavy. Its also not as 'pinchey' as the Skeletool at least on my hands. The Skeletool does have cool factor though.

Hi Colonel,
Well, I gues my first question is are you looking for another Leatherman? The Skeletool is in a class by itself...it's funky looking but functional but it really is kind of an "on it's own" kind of tool to me. I'm not an expert by any means, but I love my LM Wave and so does my mom...hehe. It is heavier and thicker than the Skeletool, but it's still a great functional tool. I'm sure the Charge is too, but for the money, the Wave is more than enough and I use it every day. After that though, I'd look at the Blast. It's just an ounce (I think) heavier than the Skeletool and not quite as thick as the Wave. It feels really nice in the hand. But it doesn't have a serrated blade, don't know if you are willing to compromise on that point or not.
If you aren't looking for another Leatherman, then what about the SAK models...either the traditional or the Swiss Tools. I have no experience with them, but lots of people love them.
I am a Leatherman fan right now and am planning to pick up a Blast and a Juice within the next several months. At some point in the future I might try the SAK line.
You also might want to think about whether you want the bit driver or just the plain, dedicated screw drivers.
I"m not an expert by any means, but that's my 2 cents. good luck.

Maybe it's time you stopped letting your mother make decisions for you. Until the day she died my mother wanted me to shave off my beard - it's my face, it's your knife.
