I'm going skiing in utah on monday and i need to decide which tool to bring, i know that if i dont bring one i will miss it, what would you bring? I have a leatherman charge tti, micra, wenger evogrip, and 2 vixtorninox classics. also i am going through new york and on a plane with them is there any problem with that? they will be in my checked baggage but i want to make sure there is no problem with that

You can fly with any of those in your checked baggage, no problem. Pretty much anything that can't explode or violently combust is fine.

If I were me I'd take the Wenger Evo Grip. Good combo of tools and easily pocketable.

I'd say to pack lightly since it's not unknown for knives/multitools to mysteriously disappear from checked baggage. I'd say just to bring the Evo Grip or the Micra.

Yes, hide it in your underwear or deep down in a boot.

Somewhere no one would want to look.

Maybe take a pair of white undies and darken them brown in some
places, then stain them yellow in others.........

I've never done skiiing, but I can image pliers can come in handy for making quick reparations on skiing gear. You could take the Charge TTi or perhaps buy a simple Kick and add the Wenger to it.

I might also suggest a LM Skeletool - they are lightweight, and more importantly easily replaced if some over-zealous TSA agent decides that they like it more than you do.

I'd go with the Evogrip and Vic Classic.I always put a small padlock on my suitcase.

Take the one that you like and can be easily replaced in case it dissappears from your checked bags. Your other option is not to take any and buy one when you arrive and mail it home to yourself when you are leaving. I have lost a couple of prized things while my bags were safe in transit and I take extreme precautions to make sure my really good stuff does not strangely go missing.

Wenger and a classic should be enough for your needs. And as long as they stay in the checked luggage you won't have a problem
