I'm interested in a SOG Powerassist MT(as well as others).Anybody know if the spring assist would be a legal problem in CT???

I love assisted knives, and just about everything is legal here in Oregon, but I honestly think the SOG assist may be going too far for a multitool. I guess it can be argued that its neat when you've only got one hand free but an MT is a work tool and I just wonder how nessesary the feature is on a tool that might have more space for tools or be smaller minus the springs.

The examples I have inspected /played with have mega amounts of side play . i would rather have a Wave or Charge , and break it in / adjust the sweet spot on the pivot . Both my Charge and wave were very slick OHO's . Vertical play ( in moderation ) is acceptable , lottsa side play is a deal breaker .

I haven't been in trouble with any types of knives and i passed a cop with my custom fixed blade on my side. I don't think cops in the state will really give a notice to your blade length as long as youre using it properly. Who can really tell the difference between 4" and 4.5" from a distance? They have better things to worry about.
