Multi-tool without a blade?

Can someone recommend a multi-tool without a blade? I already have a bunch of knives. Something in a folding plier configuration would be best. Thanks.

One option is SOG. You can take the blade out and replace it with a spacer. That way you can put the blade back in if you ever need (or want) to. I researched this when I was looking for a multitool for my young son.

Out of curiosity, what would you replace the blade with ,if you chose to replace it.I would likely put in a seat belt cutter or a really good chisel.

Ron Anderson, when he worked at SOG, said they had spacers they could send me to put in place of the blade.

And maybe you could replace it with a different tool?

I also now remember there was a site where you could custom order Gerber multitools. You could order without a blade, but seems you had to order the same tools on each side. I can't remember the URL though.

Ball point pen

Me too.

I always thought it would be great to have a pen on a Leatherman.

One you could use without unfolding the pliers.

Maybe the next model. :)

I am also interested in something with no blade for school EDC.
What I currently use is called a serbertool I used to have something similar and better, i think it was the M3 Model but for some reason it got confiscated at an airport (since when was a tiny flathead dangerous...whatever)

Note: either because of poor design or age (i have not carrie dit much, but it has sat unused in my room for like 10 years) the keyring hole no longer holds to the keyring so i just keep it in the change pocket or loose w/ the keys.

I would like to have something a little better without spending too much.

You can get a seat belt cutter for the SOGs and a bunch of others as well. I had to do some filing to get the exact configuration I wanted (I crammed a lot of tools in). But they do have spacers etc. and it is easy to customize the SOGs. I heartily reccomend them.

I would go with the PowerLock rather than the smaller models. Locking tools are best (Unless you absolutely need something more compact).
