So what would be the end result of carrying my Leatherman Charge TTi in a belt sheath on the streets of DC? Would Metro haul my ass in or what? No specific reason to carry, just like having it by my side. I'm well aware that alot of buildings in DC prohibit anything with a knife of any size or shape.

Knifes are fine to carry in DC as long as they're not being brandished or used as a weapon. I believe there are restrictions in federal buildings, but I'm not exactly sure what they are. Haven't been inside one in years. Also, the Smithsonian museums had x-ray/metal detectors last time I visited, but you can probably just toss your Charge in a backpack if you have to go through one. I've done it with no problems.

As far as actual statutory law goes, this is the text of § 22-4514

(b) No person shall within the District of Columbia possess, with intent to use unlawfully against another, an imitation pistol, or a dagger, dirk, razor, stiletto, or knife with a blade longer than 3 inches, or other dangerous weapon.

The charge has a 2.9" blade so you're good there.
