I am in queens NY. Is there somewhere nearby that carries multi tools. I tried Home depot all they had was Ohio forge for $8. I tried kmart and no go and I just went on line to sears and they only seem to carry their own brand. I can orer from the net but I didnt want to wait and I want to touch them first instead of go by a photo.

I don't know if this will help, but Paragon Sporting Goods, on 18th St, in Manhattan I think has a few choices, give them a call.
Or, I just saw a Leatherman Crunch, in the Hammerker Schlemmer catalog, really nice with a locking pliers, they may have others. they are on 57th St off Lex. you can call them also.

Phil,
Take a look in Sports Authority on Northern Blvd near Broadway. They don't carry everything, but they must have had 8+ models the last time I passed the display case.

Actually most K Marts, if you choose should have a nice selection from Buck, Leatherman, Gerber, SOG, etc. But most of them are blister packed. Also try your local hunting/ firearms dealer shop. They usually compliment their hunting gear with multi tools. Also try T-N-T Gunnery in Floral Park or Wantagh, LI. And there' s also Coliseum Gun Traders near Hofstra College in Uniondale LI.

Alex I am in Queens too!! But finding a place in Queens for Multi tools is not easy. But there are many places in Manhattan that sell multi tools, Full retail from most of the stores but they are there, Oe place you can check is Rio Trading on 45th or 46 st. off 6th Ave this place has a big selection of production knives as well as handmades, I have not been there in some time, but if it is still running, then Peter, The owner will be behnd the counter. His displays are laid out very nicly. If you go there ask for him and tell him Frank the knife customizer mentioned his place to you, BUt he sells full retail, but maybe he will discount since he has a lot of compitition from the web now, But is a real gentelman to deal with. For multi-tools and alot of production knives there is a army/navy store in soho, on b'way 1 block south of the canal street jean co. spring st?? Next time I'm down there I'll get the name and address...they have a big selection, haven't checked the prices (I was jacket shopping). Stay sharp!

Iceberg of Soho (South of Houston St. for those not in the know)on Broadway is an Army and Navy store with a huge selection of clothing, gear bags, tags, insignas, lighters, ammo cans and of course knives. But... they are all marked at full MSRP! Maybe that' s not an issue for all but certainly a consideration. Can you say tourist??

Thanx Nakano, I thought it was "iceman"...I guess the thing to do is fondle the blades there and buy 'em on-line! They wouldn't haggle for a jacket...so I guess they won't bor a knife either.
