Multi Tools with Full Sized Pliers?

Hi all,

So for some reason, I have it in my head that having pliers on me at all time is incredibly useful (even though in my 23 previous years I've never had a dire need for them). I currently carry a Charge TTi, but am looking for another option to switch off with, perhaps a combination of two smaller items (most likely the plier item and a SAK). What are the options out there for a multitool which provides a full (or nearly full) sized plier? The full sized pocket tools and Juice from Leatherman, SOG Powerlocks, and the Swiss Multitools. Is there anything else, maybe more comparable to a Juice? Not looking for tiny ones mighty tweezers sized pliers :\

I highly recomend the SOG powerlock...they are heavy and their pliers are the strongest in the buisness. Their implements don't have the high polish that a leatherman does, but they are very versitile. You can change them out with common wrenches. They are very overbuilt for hard use.

If you can find one, the old Leatherman Mini Tool had almost full sized pliers that folded down to a tiny package.

Multitool pliers are an apology for "real" pliers . That said , they are very handy , an I love em to death . I have often thought you would be further ahead with a SAK and a pair of 4" Snap On slipjoint pliers .

Oh, I know that multitool pliers are really not the same as a dedicated pair of pliers, but the same goes for practically any tool on a multitool =P I was thinking of a smaller full sized multitool pliers and then finding a SAK that had different tools that would nicely complement that particular multitool.

And.. What is this 4" whippersnapper thing you speak of?! :P

I have a pair of these 4 inch Channellock pliers.

When I carry the Channellock pliers and a SAK, I miss the wire cutters provided by a multitool pliers.

So I'm guessing there's no competition for the LM Juice line?

No, it's a unique product line in the multitool market. I wish Vic would come up with a competitor, but as for now, in a SAK size pocket knife with useable pliers, the Juice stands alone.
