In preparing for a visit to the local federal building, I decided it would be a good idea to free myself of all metal. Let's see, from my watch pocket, a Boker mini. And the sodbuster from my front pants pocket. Oh yea, and the trapper from my coat pocket.

Hmmm.

My name is loodieboy, and I am a knifeaholic.

Anyone else compelled toward multiple carry?

i carry five most of the time and three at all times. If i'm wearing a coat add two more

lately it's been two:

a Schrade Uncle Henry Signature mini-stockman in the coat pocket

and

my new favorite: Case Baby Butterbean in bolsterless shadow bone in my pants pocket

and about every other day add some Helle puukko to that....

right now an OT Middleman sits in my left front pocket with my keys and an Opinel #8 is keeping my Marlboros company in my right. If you count my bag I also have a CRKT m-16-03-z, a Gerber mutli-tool and my Grandpa's old SAK. But I don't really carry the bag everywhere, it's got too much stuff in it, art supplies, shop manuals, CDs, books. I keep looking at a Queen D2 trapper, maybe I'll eventually replace the OT and Opinel with one knife. Who knows what the holidays will bring.

Most of the time I carry two knives and Supertool.
The combo the works best for me is......
A Buck 4 1/4 stockman (or Kf4 Juice)
An Al Mar light Eagle (bumped my Buck 112)
And the originl Supertool

That gives me selection of 6 different style knife
blades for 99.9% of everything I'll ever neeed to
do. :)

Normally two knives do the jobs I need. A Buck of some sort, usually a 303 Cadet, 503 Prince for everyday. A Buck 301, 319 for outside work. Often a Buck Lightning 175 when walking on the New River Trail or doing volunteer rescue squad duty. Also a Buck tool or Leatherman PS II at times. Almost always a small SAK. I have one that is only 2 1/2" long but has a small bottle opener with a flat screwdriver tip. I rounded the file blade to fit most small Phillips screws. I have many others that get into my pockets from time to time but these see the most pocket duty. Interesting how many people carry more than one knife.

For an example of extreme multiple carry, go check out the latest thread in which T. Erdelyi has at least 9 on him! A true knife-knut! Usually I have two on me... a sheeple friendly knife, usually a stockman. And some sort of SD knife resides somewhere, today a Spyderco Mas Ayoob. Other days it is a small fixed blade of which I have several to choose from.

I always have at least 2 knives on me. I never go anywhere without my Victorinox mini swiss champ, and rotate some kind of other, small pocket knife. Most days at work, I carry an Umfaam. Now, off work is another story, and I can/do have a half dozen knives on my person.

I normally carry an SJ left front, clip-on right front, small on my keychain, folder on right rear of belt. I mix and match to insure at least one blade is heavy duty, one fine tip, and one thin slicer. Today will be Case Muskrat (Brown bone CV), Spydero Calypso, Buck 560, ladybug on keychain.

Got a Ladybug on the keychain..a Navigator clipped to my right front pocket..a Dozier K-7 and an old green bone Bowen stockman in my backpack.

Usually 3, I almost always carry a Mnandi in my shirt pocket and some SAK variant in my right front pocket. The left front pocket is for my "handmade-of-the-day" carry, which can be anything from a Horn/Geyer flipper to a J.W. Smith interframe. (What's the point in ownin' 'em if ya ain't gonna at least show 'em off!);) . Now relax guys, all the handmades are carried in cases (with a few exceptions) so they keep their "showroom new" finish :D !
